When members opt in to the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan, they no longer pay at the pharmacy when filling their Part D prescriptions. Instead, the plan will pay the upfront costs and then send a monthly bill to the member. This spreads the costs out over the year to make the costs more affordable for the member.
Please note that the costs can vary by month, based on a Medicare calculation and as the member fills additional prescriptions; costs are not equally split across each month.
Members can opt in to the payment plan by doing one of the following:
Calling the Customer Service phone number on the back of their ID card
Going online and signing up through their member website account
Completing this form and mailing it to the address in the directions (members can also access the online opt-in location, via their member website, by scanning the QR code on the form)
